Award-Winning Claymation® Creator Will Vinton to Speak at The Art Institute of Tucson during Open House

Tucson, AZ (April 1, 2008) -- Will Vinton, the Claymation® pioneer, will discuss “Evolution: Claymation® & 3-D Animation” at The Art Institute of Tucson, 5099 E. Grant Road, Friday, April 25 from noon to 2 p.m.


Director and Producer Vinton, who teaches at The Art Institute of Portland in Oregon, will discuss the creation, growth and acceptance of Claymation® and 3-D animation. In addition to his presentation, his work is on display at the school’s gallery now through the end of April.

Vinton is the creator of hundreds of international commercial creations, including the California Raisins, Domino’s Noid and the M &M’s Red, Yellow and Green characters.

Vinton’s short film Closed Mondays received an Academy Award in 1975. His television specials, including Will Vinton's A Claymation Christmas Celebration, Claymation Easter Special, and Claymation Comedy of Horrors, and Meet the Raisins have received Prime-time Emmy Awards and he has been nominated for both Academy Awards and Emmys many times.

Will Vinton’s Freewill Entertainment production facility is based in Portland.
